Obituary

Jayvon was born on July 5, 2003, in Springfield, Illinois, to parents, Jason Bankhead and Daisy Coppage. He was baptized in 2019 at Union Baptist Church.

From the beginning, he brought joy, laughter, and love into the lives of everyone around him. He was known for his incredible sense of humor, outstanding personality, and the warmth he shared with family and friends.

Jayvon graduated and obtained his diploma from Job Corps (Penn Foster High School) in Joliet, Illinois, on November 3, 2023, where he received honors in the Office Administration Apprenticeship Program. He continued his education by pursuing an associate degree at Lincoln Land Community College as a medical assistant.

He loved spending time listening to and making music, along with bringing people together. He had a natural gift for making others laugh. His energy was contagious with lasting memories for all who had the blessing of knowing him.

Above all, Jayvon was a devoted father. He adored his two-year-old son, Acariyer, and was eagerly awaiting the birth of his son in February 2026. His greatest joy was being a dad, and his love for his children will continue to live on forever.

He leaves to cherish in his memory: fiancée, A’Shanti Shell; son, Acariyer Coleman Shell Bankhead; parents, Jason Bankhead and Daisy Coppage; siblings, Nariah Clay, Kyjuan Austin, Olivia Wicks, Sophia Wicks, Cepeah Wicks, Payton Wicks, Jason Bankhead, Jr., and Jaceion Bankhead; stepmother, Taheshia Bankhead; stepbrothers, Tywon Williams, Jawon Williams, and DeAlvion Glass; grandparents, Marilyn Bankhead and the late Ernest Bankhead, Jr.; grandma, Hattie Clay; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
