Obituary

Jamal Raheem Black, “Chilly,” departed this life February 8, 2026, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital. He was born on May 15, 1990, in Ft. Huachuca, AZ, to mother, Leannette Black, and father, Dennis Howland. 

Jamal graduated from District 186. He participated in the Youth Building program at Union Baptist and received a certificate of completion where he was also a member. Jamal occupation was a DSP (direct support professional) for Brother James Court, Jenashton Healthcare and Hope School. Jamal had a passion when it came to music; he loved to produce, create beats, and spent time writing music. He was a loving and caring person and was always willing to help those in need. Jamal was loving son, father, brother, uncle, and friend. 

Jamal leaves to cherish his memories: his father, Dennis Howland; mother, Leannette Black (stepfather, William Black); daughter, Selina Smith, Ciara Black, Renae Smith (stepdaughter), and Kyree Donovan (stepson); sister, Kamilah Webb (husband, Ricky Webb, Jr.); sister-in-love, Sarayah Lacy (husband, Milton Lacy); brothers, Lee Black and Perion Burns-Black (fiancée, Brittany Zimmerman); aunt, First Lady Nadine Taylor, Evangelist, Prohetess, CEO; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends, including special loved one, Adrienne (Ari) Dodged. 

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lee Ella Wade; and uncle, Elder Danny Ray Evans and Celsey Donovan (mother of Ciara and Kyree).
