Obituary

Eric L. Garner departed this life on February 16, 2026, at his home in Springfield. He was born on December 31, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Edna Garner.

He was married to Wanda Garner-Aldrich on August 3, 1976.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Garner, and brothers, Frederick Horton, Sr., and Larry Garner.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his step-daughter, Shelita Aldrich of Virginia; sister, Lydia Southall of Springfield, IL; niece, Terri Southall; and nephews, Robert Horton and Frederick Horton, Jr.
