Obituary

Anastasia Patrece Swilley was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on September 15, 1976. She was the beloved daughter of Ferris Swilley, Jr. and Leatrice Swilley. Affectionately known as “Stacy, she was a people-person whose sweet and loving spirit could also become feisty at times. She was a lifelong resident of Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Having professed her belief in Christ earlier in her life, Anastasia worshipped with her family at Simon Temple African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church until her health would not permit her to do so. “Father, I stretch my hands to thee, no other help I know.”

Anastasia understood the importance of caring for others. Therefore, she regarded her career as one of her many Christian missions. She was a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) who was passionate about working with the elderly as well as in the mental health field. Her loving nature, kindness, and patience demonstrated her care for each person she provided her service for. She was compassionate with children, especially those who needed adult supervision. Concerned enough to make a difference, she took them in her care to give them hope. “If I can help somebody as I pass along, then my living shall not be in vain.”

Apart from her job, Stacy had pastime interests that she looked forward to enjoying. She loved to party with her family and friends. She looked forward to dancing and challenging others to play BINGO and Spades.

At the start of her illness, Stacy activated her faith knowing that if God brought her to it, He could bring her through it. It was He who allowed her loved ones to be devoted to her care and to bid her farewell on Friday, March 20, 2026, as she departed this life to enter the Glory of God.

“When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.” Loved ones who will continue to treasure the life, love, and legacy of Anastasia Patrese Swilley are her devoted father, Ferris (Teresa) Swilley, Jr. of Fayetteville, NC; sons: Ladreke Massey, Durez (Tamara) Massey, and Thomas Swilley, all of Fayetteville, NC; siblings: Lacona “Connie” (Nathaniel) Torrey of Fayetteville, NC, Laketa (Terence) Bellamy,  Alvin Swilley, and Temeka Dean, all of Madison, FL; seven grandchildren; along with many other bereaved relatives, sorrowing friends, and comforting Simon Temple A.M.E. Zion family.

Preceding Anastasia Patrece in death was her mother, Leatrice Swilley.
