Obituary
Sandra Marie Daniels-Campbell, affectionally known as “San,” was born to the late Willie and Irene Daniels on August 2, 1962, in Miami, Florida. Sandra attended Miami Central Senior High School. She was an avid reader and an exceptional spelling whiz who loved word games, especially Scrabble. Sandra also loved to partake in a good game of Spades. She was an excellent cook who loved to experiment with herbs and spices to create a new take on a recipe.
Sandra’s favorite sport was boxing, especially big name fights, and her favorite singer was David Ruffin from the Temptations, whom she would often call her “Hollywood boyfriend.” She had a good ear for music and could often tell you who was the singer of songs from decades ago. Her taste in music was unique as she had a love of not only soul and R&B music but also rock & roll, blues, reggae, Afrobeat, instrumentals, and country music. When she was in control of the radio, you never knew what she would play. She had a fabulous sense of humor and loved to laugh and would laugh long. You could sometimes find her still laughing about something long after it was over with.
Sandra met Charlie Campbell, the love of her life, and in 1977 they had their first child, followed by their second child in 1980. After 40 years of being together, the two decided to get married on September 16, 2016, making their four decades long relationship an official union. Sandra was a homemaker, and she spent her days educating and raising her children. She was a family-oriented woman and the happiest moments in her life were when she was engaged in activities with her children and grandchildren. She loved working on school projects with the grandkids when they were young such as cutting, gluing, drawing and coloring pictures. She helped them with research projects and typed reports when they were older. She was a true hands-on grandma. Her door was literally always open for the grandkids to come in, sit on her bed and talk to her about any and everything.
San was admired and respected by her numerous nieces, nephews, and family friends. She had a reputation of being straightforward and honest. She was that person who would give her last to help a person in need. San left her mark in this world by sharing and leaving behind a wealth of wisdom and knowledge and numerous funny interactions.
She leaves to mourn and cherish her memories and traditions: her daughter, Matilya Daniels, and son, Lenwood Daniels; two stepsons, Charlie Campbell, Jr. (Falisier), and Darrell Campbell (Carla); five grandchildren, Cleavon Kemp, Shandel Kemp, Clarence Kemp, Terriss Sellers, and Keiana Blackman-Kemp; one great-granddaughter, Naomi Kemp; adopted granddaughter, Gabriela Renolds; three sisters, Audrey Belote, Christine Roberts, and Rachel Miller; two brothers-in-law, Willie Miller and Ralph Roberts; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Charlie Campbell, Sr.; two brothers, Tyrone Daniels and Willie Daniels, Jr.; and sisters, Shirley Golden and Victoria Daniels.
