Obituary

Marc Anthonie Rashon Braxton was born on August 9, 1974, in Miami Beach, Florida, to the late Kenneth Kevin Braxton and Audrey “Spun” Braxton. He began his educational journey within the Miami Dade County school system and later pursued higher education at Johnson C. Smith University and Hampton University, where he broadened both his knowledge and sense of purpose. He was a proud member of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, Inc.

As he excelled academically across various institutions, Marc Anthonie embraced fatherhood with the arrival of his beautiful daughter, Hannah Grace Cummingham, who lives in Tennessee with her mother, Alyson Cummingham.

Marc had a profound passion for all things imaginative and adventurous. He cherished Star Trek and found delight in video games, comic books, and the loyal companionship of dogs. An avid reader and collector of action figures, he also had a keen interest in technology and enjoyed listening to old-school hip-hop. His hobbies not only brought him joy but also fostered a close-knit community of friends who shared in his creativity and enthusiasm.

On the afternoon of Friday, June 20, 2025, MarcAnthonie was welcomed into eternal rest after the challenge of an extended illness. He will be remembered for his gentle heart, limitless imagination, and the quiet strength he exhibited throughout his life. His legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Marc Anthonie leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Audrey Doyle Blount; stepfather, Slyvester Blount; brother, KenJay Trueblood; daughter, Hannah Cummingham; male figure, Kenneth Trueblood; godmothers, Diane Thompson (NJ), Michele Tucker (NJ), and Ruth Brown (FL); cousin, Vanessa Mcknight (NY); aunts, Andrea McKnight (NY) and Joyce Baskerville (NJ); sister, Tasha Brown; good friend, Stacey Diggs; and a host of other family and friends.
