Obituary

Lilian K. Prince (affectionately called Mayan by her children) was born on December 12, 1929, in St. Paul, St. Kitts. She spent her early years in St. Kitts; there she met her late husband, William A. Prince. After a period of courtship, they joined in holy matrimony and this union produced seven children.

Lilian migrated to St. Thomas US Virgin Islands, where she cared for her children. Once her children were old enough to attend school, she worked as a Nanny and a Housekeeper for several families on the island.

Lilian relocated to Miami, Florida, to provide care for her husband and to be with her children and grandchildren.

Lilian was a faithful servant of God, she was a long-standing member of United Family Baptist Church, prior to her medical battles. As a woman of deep spirituality, Lilian found strength and joy in her faith and expressed her love for Christ. She enjoyed singing old gospel hymns and reciting bible verses from memory. Psalm 23 was her favorite Psalm. On July 9, 2025, she was peacefully called to rest in the comforting promise of her Savior Jesus Christ.

Lilian’s legacy lives on through her children, Albert Prince, Brenda Bedford, Wendell Prince, Franklin Prince, Curtis Prince, Cuthbert Prince, and Elfreda Weaver; adopted daughter/granddaughter, Avrill Prince-Abraham; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; in-laws; special friend, Leonora Nichols; and a host of relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

Lilian’s faith, strength, and compassion will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
