Obituary
Leniox Charles Gilbert II was born on November 29, 1970, to Ella Lorraine Gilbert and Leniox Charles Gilbert, Sr. He was surrounded by faith, family, and love.
Charles was a man whose presence could light up a room, through his warmth, wisdom, and quiet strength. He lived his life with integrity, kindness, and a sense of humor that brought joy to those fortunate enough to know him.
Whether it was through his generous spirit, the stories he told, or the advice he gave, Charles made an impression that lasts a lifetime. He had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued. By example he demonstrated the importance of family, hard work, and staying true to your word. We will remember his laughter, his patience, and his strength. Though he may be gone from our sight, his love and spirit will live on in each of us.
Charles will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Charles was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Mary (Willie) Gilbert Smith; uncle, Lousi Gregory Nesbitt; nephew, Kareem Reshard Jean; sister, Linda Diane Greene; brother, Leonard Charles Gregory Gilbert; and special brother, Cedric Killings.
Charles leaves behind to cherish his memories: his maternal grandmother, Doris Dixon; mother, Ella L. Gilbert; father, Leniox C. (Coelo) Gilbert, Sr.; wife, Tameka Gilbert; children, Bianca, Olanah, Lexis, Lenneisha, Dai’tese, Jhocob’e, and Dale; aunt, Bertha Clark; siblings, Kathy (Thomas) Robinso, Deirdra Deas, Candance Moncrieffie, Daphine (Jeff) Johnson, Demetria Gilbert, Malaya Gilbert, Persia Gilbert, Neal (Tara) Muhammad, Eric (Shaqueria) Gilbert, Darius Gilbert, and Charles Little, Jr.; friends, Mr. Bones, Clinton Rigby; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
