Obituary
Lansford Grant, who was affectionately known as “Mr. G,” “Pops,” “Alanzo,” and “Lanzie,” was born on October 10, 1946, in Jamaica in the parish of St. Elizabeth (Holland Village), to the late Stanley Grant and Princelia Dunkley.
Lanzie, as he was called by his family, left St. Elizabeth at a young age, travelling in various parishes to work. While working in Kingston, that’s where Lansford met his wife, Verona, who was living next door to his family. A friendship blossomed and bloomed into a relationship. They got engaged in 1976, and a year later, on June 25, 1977, they got married.
Prior to their relationship, he had one son and she had two children, a son and a daughter. He was respected by her children, and they grew up as a family. The union produced three children, two boys and a girl; in total they had six children together.
On July 31, at the age of 79, Lansford peacefully transitioned from this earthly life and entered eternal rest.
He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life: his devoted wife, Verona Grant; daughters, Shauna Grant and Simone Lamey; sons, Korry Grant, Koy Grant, Kevin Grant, and Michael Grant; 23 grandchildren; brothers, Donovan, Kingsley Oswald, Keana Paster Alicia; two sisters-in-law, Maureen and Maruell; two brothers-in-law, Delroy and Dalton; and a host of relatives and friends in Jamaica and the United States.
Though he is no longer with us in body, his love, laughter, and enduring spirit will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
