Obituary
As the sunrise on February 3, 2026, Herbie Anthony Smith known as Jr./Herb transitioned peacefully in his sleep.
He was born on November 19, 1963, in Dothan, Alabama to the late Herbert Smith and Girlie M. Copeland.
He received his education in Miami, Florida attending Dade County schools.
He worked as a HUD custodian and multiple other jobs.
Herb lived mostly his adult life with his kids’ mother, Renee, or Nae, is what he called her. Even when they separated, most thought they were still together because of the friendship they had. Herb will always be brother-in-law and Uncle Herb. He was loved by Renee’s family.
Herb loved to enjoy himself with family. He will pull that barbecue grill out every chance he get with one slab of ri,b try feed the whole neighborhood. Oh, yeah, let’s not forget about the speaker. He loved his old school jams. He got on our nerves, but it was ALL LOVE.
Preceding him in death. Herb had to bury his baby girl, Breaunne Smith, and his only son, Tyree Smith.
Herb leaves a lifetime of memories with his loving daughters, LaSheena Smith and Brianna Smith; son and daughter God put in his life, Edward Jr., and Brittney Delancy; grandchildren, Kayla Martinez and Anthony Martinez; grands God put in his life, Edward III, Angela, Angelica, and Cameron Delancy; brothers, Thomas Smith, Sr. (Bernadine), Anthony Smith, Sr. (Juanita), and Lawerence Kimbrough; sisters, Anna Miller and Cora Smith; nephews, Micheal McGhee, Sr., Thomas Smith, Jr., Joey West, Anthony Smith, Jr., Lleyton Kimbrough, and Dantae Kimbrough; nieces, Antrianal Smith, Kiara Smith, Anastasia Smith, and a bonus niece, Diamond Wesley; bonus nephew, Cyril Gaitor; great nephews, Micheal McGhee, Jr., Tyrone McGhee, Alexander Watts, Austin Watts, and Jacquez Cray, Jr.; great-nieces, Makayla McGhee and Princess Smith; godbrother, Mark Devilla; aunt, Queen Holmes; friend, Latonya Bell; and a host of other relatives and friends.
