Obituary

George R. Lightbourn was born on May 29, 1965, to the late Pearline Lightbourn Taylor and the late Exile Taylor, who both preceded him in death. From the very beginning, George brought warmth, kindness, and joy to those who had the privilege of knowing him.

George received his education in Miami, Florida, and proudly graduated from Miami Northwestern Senior High School. He later began his career with the City of Miami Parks and Recreation, where his strong work ethic and dedication to serving the community quickly became evident. While employed there, George furthered his professional development by earning his security license through Dorsey Education Center.

Never one to shy away from hard work, George accepted a second position as a security officer at the DoubleTree Grand Hotel and Condominiums. His leadership, dependability, and commitment to excellence earned him the role of security supervisor, a position he carried with pride and integrity.

Although George never married and had no children of his own, his heart was large enough to embrace his family in countless ways. His nieces and nephews were like his own children, and he devoted much of his life to loving, guiding, and caring for them. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, or simply be there whenever he was needed. Family meant everything to George, and he gave of himself generously.

George had a personality that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He possessed the kind of spirit that made people feel welcome and appreciated. His warm smile could brighten any room, and his beautiful brown eyes reflected the kindness and compassion that lived within his heart. His laughter, generosity, and genuine love for others will forever be remembered by all who knew him.

On July 15, 2026, George peacefully departed this earthly life and entered into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Though his physical presence is no longer with us, his legacy of love, faith, kindness, and selflessness will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.

George leaves to cherish his precious memories his devoted sister, Cheryl Kimpson, along with a host of beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing that heaven has welcomed a beautiful soul. George was deeply loved, and his memory will remain a source of strength, comfort, and inspiration for all who were blessed to know him.

“Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord.”
 – Matthew 25:23

You were truly loved, George,
and you will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
