Obituary

Cassandra Fiona Adolphine was born on February 15, 1961, on the beautiful island of Saint Kitts and Nevis and was raised in the village of Mansion. Cassandra was the fifth of ten children by her mother, Marjorie Adolphine. She was raised around her grandmother, Agatha Adolphine, while her mother worked on neighboring islands to provide for her family.

Many people through the village of Mansion called her “Lize” because she favored her great-grandmother, Eliza. She went to school at Estridge Moravian School and at the age of 12 years old she graduated to Cayon High School. Later on she migrated to St. Thomas USVI. While living in St. Thomas she gave birth to six beautiful strong baby girls: Kenya, Kolene, Karima, Kenima, Keema, and Krystal.

She enjoyed the captivating music of the islands whether it was Soca, Calypso, or Reggae. Cassandra loved to enjoy herself and dance to bands like Jam Band, Burning Flames, and Eddie and the Movements. The love for carnival and music is something she passed on to her children. Eventually she left St. Thomas and migrated to Miami, Florida specifically Opa-Locka. Opa-Locka is where she raised some of her children,
created memories, and gained many friends.

In September and November of the year 2000, Kenya and Karima made her a grandmother of two healthy loving baby boys: Antravian (Tray) and Kareem (Tweedy). Over the coming years she was blessed with many more grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cassandra was very well known in Opa-Locka, either as Lize or Mama Dread.

She was very tough, outspoken, funny, loving in her own way and did not take any mess from anyone. Did she do everything right? That’s not for any one of us to say, but for God to judge. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, and friends near and far will carry her beautiful memories that will last forever. Rest in heaven’s peace.
