Obituary
Carlous Antonio Mallette was born on December 15, 1978, in Miami, Florida, to his proud parents, Vivian Williams and Cyril Mallette. As a child, Carlous was mannerly, determined, and consistently respectful to adults. He was especially loving toward and protective of his mother. At an early age, Carlous gave his life to Christ. He attended Last Day Deliverance Church alongside his mother under the leadership of Pastor Amos Hill.
Carlous was educated in the Miami-Dade County Public School System and graduated from McArthur High School. During his high school years, he was recognized as a gifted writer with a deep love for reading. His passion for literature naturally evolved into a love for poetry. Known by many as a poetic genius, he shared his work through social media, inspiring those who encountered his words. Carlous took pride in his appearance and was often seen in his signature style: freshly starched pants paired with culturally affirming T-shirts.
Shortly after graduating, Carlous began his career with Elite Security Company, where he worked for several years. He later joined Publix Super Markets, where he became known for his exceptional customer service, strong work ethic, and orderly approach to his responsibilities. Carlous's strong work ethic can be attributed to his father, Cyril, who set a shining example of hard work and responsibility. His warm smile and welcoming spirit left a lasting impression, often prompting customers to share glowing feedback with management. Carlous faithfully served at Publix for over a decade and remained employed there until his passing.
One of Carlous's greatest joys in life was his son, Carlous Jr. He was deeply involved in his son's life, encouraging him, guiding him, and always pointing him toward what was right. Their bond was filled with laughter, meaningful conversations, and shared moments of joy.
On Sunday, May 3, 2026, Carlous transitioned to be with the Lord, moving from the corruptible to the incorruptible, from mortality to immortality. Though he is no longer present in the physical body, we are comforted by God's eternal promise: For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens." - 2 Corinthians 5:1
Carlous leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Carlous Antonio Mallette, Jr.; his surrogate children, Sage Robinson and Angela Clayton; his father, Cyril Mallette of Miami, Florida; his mother, Vivian Shelton Scott; and his stepfather, David Scott. He is also survived by four sisters: Kerry Riley (Kwame) of Atlanta, Georgia; Althea Mallette of Miami, Florida; Tangela Bruce (Bobby) of Miami, Florida; and Ericka Scott of Atlanta, Georgia; one uncle, Mitchell Williams (Edna) of Miami, Florida, and one aunt, Susiette Williams of Miami, Florida. He also leaves two Godmothers, Cynthia Burroughs and Iris Collins, both of Miami, Florida; two best friends, Danny Bennett and Jay Calixte; and a host of cousins and friends, too numerous to name. "Absent from the body, present with the Lord." Rest well, Carlous. Your love will remain with us always.
