Obituary
Brenda Elizabeth Sweeting-Russell was born on November 11, 1951, in Miami, Florida, to parents William and Alice Sweeting. She lived a life rooted in love, faith, and strong family bonds, leaving behind memories that will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
A proud graduate of Miami Northwestern Senior High School, Brenda was a true Bull at heart. Her pride in her roots and accomplishments stayed with her throughout her life.
Brenda dedicated over 20 years of faithful service to Dade County Transit, where she built lasting relationships and earned the respect of her colleagues. After years of hard work, she later retired while living in Atlanta, Georgia.
Brenda eventually made Atlanta her home, becoming a proud resident of Georgia, while always carrying Miami in her heart.
She was well known for her love of cosmetology and fashion, always carrying herself with confidence and style. One of her greatest joys was spending time on the phone with her loved ones, offering encouragement, laughter, and care. She was a loving and nurturing woman, and although her sisters would lovingly describe her as “selfish” in the most affectionate way, it spoke to her strong will and spirited personality.
Above all, Brenda was a woman of faith. She carried faith the size of a mustard seed, trusting God through every chapter of her life.
Brenda leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband Milton Russell; beloved son, Charles Anderson (Tashia); precious grandchildren, A’mirace Anderson, Keontae Anderson, Novicico Anderson, Raina Williams, and Josiah Haley; sisters, Cynthia Hall and Juanita Lopez (Victor); and a host of loving godchildren, other family, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Though she may be gone from our sight, she will forever remain in our hearts.
