Obituary

Allen Lane Wyatt Graves was born on Friday, January 23, 1948, in Newark, New Jersey to Lila B. Cotton and John Wyatt, both of whom preceded him in death.

MT, as he was affectionately known, spent his early school years between Newark, New Jersey, and Miami, Florida. He attended Holmes Elementary School, D.A. Dorsey Junior High School, Miami Northwestern Senior High School, and graduated from Miami Carol City Senior High School in 1967.

MT was a dedicated and hardworking man from a very young age. He was beating the sun to the sky, delivering milk alongside his cousin James, who was more like a big brother to him, long before child labor laws were even a consideration. Once he reached working age, he did whatever was necessary to support and provide for his family. He worked for many years as a Delivery Truck Driver for Sears & Roebucks Company before finding his career home as a Carman with Florida East Coast Railway, where he worked until his retirement in 2007.

MT was a true-to-life comedian with a heart of gold, despite his sharp tongue. He was a natural-born hustler who drove in style, always had to have on his "smell good", and was known for being sharp as a tack any day of the week. And let's not forget those signature nails of his!

MT leaves to cherish and celebrate his legacy: his beloved wife, Barbara Graves; his brother-in-law Anthony Lightfoot (Anita); his children, Undra Graves-Guyton (Cedric), Takesha Washington (Pierre), and Tremayne Graves Sr. (Janie); his grandchildren, Undreya, Kelcey Jr., Chierra, Kyle, Ceraeya, Londyn, and Tremayne Jr.; and his great-grandchildren, Sade and Nyomi.

He was also HONORED to be affectionately known throughout the neighborhood as "Pops" or "Grandpa Graves." Along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and friends, he will be greatly missed.

However, there is a joyous reunion awaiting him. His mama, papa, brothers, sister, niece, cousins, and dear friends are waiting to welcome him home.

REST IN POWER!
